Metal Sculpture Mantis Shrimp
Broome Western Australia
Both beautiful and deadly the mantis shrimp is one of the oceans most interesting crustaceans. These animals have one of the fastest strikes on earth accelerating their arms faster than a bullet to stun prey as well as the most complex set of eyes in the animal kingdom. The sculpture is crafted from welded mild steel and painted with a variety of vibrant colors to showcase their colorful nature. The shrimp is resting on a polished piece of paperbark timber local to the surrounding Broome area.
